He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Gwen H. Harms and his son Leiton Hashimoto, grand-daughter Aimee Purtell and great-grandsons Tommy and Kellen Purtell. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on May 31, 1919, Hilda began her career as a teacher, ultimately retiring as an elementary school vice principal with the Hawaii Department of Education. Hilda was preceded in death by husband Paul K.S. Fo, her daughter, Mary Jane (Kim) Hanson and son-in-law Thomas Hanson. She graduated from Roosevelt High School, then went on to attend the University of Hawaii, then graduated from the University Minnesota in Minneapolis with a degree in Education. She worked many years at Pearl Harbor Elementary School. She is survived by husband Richard Settsu, 3 sons, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, and 1 sister. Curt held multiple roles of service throughout his life, with his final position as the beloved security officer at the Hawai'i School for the Deaf and Blind, where he was known for his protective and warm heart. Jun 21(68.) LEILIA LILI MAHDJUB-HUGHES passed away on June 14, 2026, in Honolulu. She was born on January 31, 1948, in Tehran, Iran. In 1969, she became the first Iranian flight attendant for Pan Am and later worked for United Airlines. Leila is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Hughes. She will be remembered as a loving grandmother, mother, wife, sister, and friend.
