Born on January 30, 1934, in Minneapolis to Harry and Ella Fankhanel, Marilynn moved to Oahu in 1958 where she lived until her death. Marilynn founded MCM Planning and assisted with projects like the Keck Telescopes on Mauna Kea. She served on the board for Ballet Hawaii and enjoyed travel, throwing Christmas parties, and was a friend to fuzzy orange cats and critters. David graduated from Kailua High School, and worked at the Honolulu Advertiser before starting his long career as a Longshore Foreman with Hawaii Stevedores, Inc., until his retirement. She retired from the Del Monte Corporation. He was born in Spreckelsville, Maui to Reverend Choon Ho and Mary Dho Lim who were first generation Korean immigrants to Hawaii. Tai Hi was the last living sibling of 4 brothers and 6 sisters. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Tai Hi graduated from Maui high school and went on to obtain his master's degree from Columbia University in New York.
