USEPA Proposes Approval of Hawaii’s Hazardous Waste Management Program
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking comments on a proposal to approve changes to Hawaii’s authorized hazardous waste program under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. The changes correspond to certain federal rules promulgated by the EPA between May 26, 1998 and July 1, 2016. The update includes changes that are required to maintain equivalency with the national hazardous waste program and several provisions that are either more stringent or broader in scope than the federal regulations. Details of EPA’s proposed approval are available for review and comment at www.regulations.gov by searching for Docket ID No. EPA-R09-RCRA-2018-0267.
