FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR
JOINT INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS CENTER AT JOINT BASE PEARL
HARBOR-HICKAM, MAKALAPA COMPOUND, OAHU, HAWAII
Pursuant to the Council on Environmental Quality Regulations implementing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the United States Department of the Navy (the Navy) gives notice of availability of its Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposed construction of a Joint Intelligence Operations Center (JIOC) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH), Makalapa Compound. The Preferred Alternative would construct an administrative facility to consolidate U.S. Indo-Pacific Command JIOC functions at JBPHH Makalapa Compound from multiple locations at JBPHH and Camp H.M. Smith. The Navy has determined that the project would result in less than significant impacts on the quality of the human or natural environment. The Final Environmental Assessment (EA) provides analyses of environmental consequences of the action.
