NOTICE TO PUBLIC
Storm Drainage BMPs in the Vicinity
of Kaelepulu Pond-Hele Channel
Improvements and Curb Inlet Screens
Beginning Monday, October 29th, 2018 the City and
County of Honolulu along with it’s contractor Kiewit
Infrastructure West Co. will begin BMP Improvements
along Hele Channel and the Installation of Curb
Inlet Protection along Keolu Drive & Akumu Street.
Construction is expected to be completed within
six (6) months.
The work will take place Monday – Friday from 7:00
AM to 3:30 PM. Work will consist of installing Rip
Rap & Erosion Matting along the banks of the Hele
Channel as well as BMP devices in the drainage inlets
along Keolu Drive & Akumu Street. Akumu Street may
be periodically reduced to one lane, along the bridge
spanning the Hele Channel, throughout construction.
