On or about 20 November 2021, a release of JP-5 to the environment as a result of a break of a fire suppression drain line valve occurred at the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility, located at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH), Hawaii, TMK 99010006, 99010001, 11012003, 11012004. A Removal Action pursuant to Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR), Secton11-451-13 was conducted to clean up a contaminated drinking water well and associated drinking water distribution system at the site.
Pursuant to -HAR Section 11-451-13(g), the administrative record file detailing the Removal Action (Record), including Removal Action Reports for each distribution zone, is available for public review. DOH is accepting comments on the Removal Action for 30 days.
The Removal Action -administrative record file, as well as supporting documentation, is available for review online at www.jbphh-safewaters.org. The Removal Action – administrative record file and supporting documentation may also be reviewed at DOH offices at 2385 Waimano Home Rd, Honolulu, HI 96782-1400 or Pearl City Public Library. Oral and written comments on the Removal Action will be accepted through 30 March 2022. Written comments should be mailed to:
