PUBLIC NOTICE: NHPA Section 106 Public Notification
The U.S. Navy has determined that proposed training and testing activities in the Hawaii-Southern California Training and Testing (HSTT) Study Area is considered an undertaking as defined in the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) §800.16(y) and have the potential to
affect historic properties. Pursuant to 36 CFR §800.2(d), 800.3(b), and 800.3(e), the Navy is engaging members of the public who wish to participate as consulting parties in the associated NHPA section 106 process.
The NHPA section 106 process will support preparation of an Environmental Impact
Statement/Overseas Environmental Impact
Statement for the proposed training and testing activities in the HSTT Study Area.
The Navy is hosting a section 106 consultation meeting to identify historic properties within the Hawaii portion of the HSTT Study Area. The meeting will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at: Military and Family Support Center Pearl Harbor, Room 293, 4827 Bougainville Drive, Honolulu.
