Landfill was used by the U.S. Navy for municipal waste from 1944 to 1957, when
the site served as Haiku Naval Radio Station. In 1972, the site was transferred
to the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) for use as the Omega Station and still remains
under USCG ownership. The general public is invited and encouraged to attend
this meeting.
