D. LONO ZANE 77, of Honolulu, retired from the tour industry, passed on August 21, 2024. Born and raised in Waikiki, he is survived by his sister, Denise Ishikawa, her husband, Noriki of Japan, and their five children, Noa, Shane, Kenny, Mahina and Makana; his step- mother, Delores Zane and step- sister, Deborah Harrison. ROBERT KAZUAKI AND MILDRED RUMIKO UYENO Robert Uyeno, 89, passed away on April 11, 2020, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Mildred Uyeno, 89, passed away on October 29, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. They are survived by their children Russell, Christine Johnson, and Kathryn Palanca; Grandchildren Ryan and Naomi Uyeno, Cameron, Malia, and Carly Johnson; Great-granddaughter Morgan Uyeno; and Mildred's sister Evelyn Endo. PHILIP OBADO Of Ewa Beach was born and raised in Lanai. His youth years included Future Farmers of America member as a photographer and recorder. Raising many chickens, pigs and even a cow. He loved fishing, diving, spearfishing, throw-net fishing and pole. He loved his beer, talking story with his friends morning, noon, and all night. He was extremely talented at playing his ukulele. GEORGE AH YEW HIU George "Sonny" Hiu, 91, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, at the Hi'olani Care Center at Kahala Nui surrounded by loved ones. George was born on August 28,1933, in Honolulu and was the oldest of three sons to George and Helen Lum Hiu. He attended St. Louis High School and graduated in 1951. RICHARD KEICHI YAGINUMA 88, formerly of Honolulu, Hawaii, died peacefully on January 12, 2025, surrounded by family. Richard was a 1954 graduate of Mckinley High School. He then attended the University of Hawaii where he earned a bachelor's and teaching degree. He was a retired teacher, who taught social studies at Aiea Intermediate School and was the former tennis coach at Mckinley High School. He was known as "Coach Yagi" to many. LORETTA (LORI) MASAKO HANAMOTO Loretta (Lori) Masako Hanamoto, 81, of Hawaii Kai, passed away peacefully at home on December 25, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Honolulu on February 16, 1943, Lori graduated from Farrington High School and Kapiolani Technical School as a dental assistant. She began her career at the dental office of Dr. Hirashima, after taking time off from work to take care of her young children, she worked at MK Engineers, before working with her husband at HH Electric, Inc. in 1985, where she worked until her retirement in 2011 as Vice President and Secretary.
