Feb 3(2.) HANAE MAEDA Hanae Maeda, originally Hanae Sagawa, was born on May 18, 1929, in Ola'a, Hawai'i. She was the youngest child of father Chikatada and mother Mume Sagawa's seven children. At age four, the family moved to Hilo where Hanae was raised through high school, finishing her last year at McKinley High School in Honolulu in 1947. She then spent three years at the University of Hawai'i before transferring to Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where she graduated with a degree in education. Feb 3(3.) ELAINE KIKO, "NETTE" Was called home on January 21, 2023. Nette is preceded in death by her husband Norman Kiko Sr., son Joe Kiko, parents John and Wilma Miller, and brothers Chubby and Bolo Miller. Nette is survived by her daughters Tammy (Wilson) Moniz, Shana Lei Kiko, Noelani (Hubs) Paiva, sons Moku and Nolan Kiko, 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grand- children, sister Shadda Galdeira and numerous nieces and nephews. She was born in New Hampshire on November 17, 1956, and worked on Oahu as the Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of the Hawaii Foodbank. She was a devoted servant for the people of Hawai'i for over 20 years, organizing food drives and making resources available to those in need.
