MELODE GIFFORD REINKER

Age 74, of Kaneohe, HI, passed away in San Mateo, California after a battle with glioblastoma. She was born on August 9, 1943 in Indiana and moved to Hawai’i in 1970. She was a children’s librarian for 20 years, working at the Main, Kailua, and Kaneohe Public libraries. She was an active judge for the Hawaii Figure Skating Club for more than 25 years, and a dedicated T’ai Chi practitioner and instructor. She is survived by her three children, Matthew, Daniel, and Lisa Noelani Reinker; four grandchildren; Zachary, Coralyn, Lucia, and Rosalie; brother Howard Gifford. Services to be held at 3 pm, June 15th, Central Union Church Atherton Chapel courtyard, casual potluck reception to follow. Donations in her memory can be made to
