Meetings

The County of Kaua’i will host two public meetings to provide information
on the County’s DEIS for the New Kaua’i Landfill, Ma’alo, Kaua’i, Hawai’i.
Meetings will be held as follows:
– Tuesday, May 8, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Li-hu’e Neighborhood
Center (NBHD CTR), 3353 Eono Street, Li-hu’e; and
– Wednesday, May 9, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Kapa’a NBHD CTR,
4491 Kou Street, Kapa’a.
The meetings will begin at 6:00 p.m. and provide the opportunity to learn
about the project from the County’s DEIS team in an open house setting.
Stations will be set-up to provide information about the modern landfill
design planned at Ma’alo, the environmental and land use features of
Ma’alo, and the studies and surveys performed for the DEIS. At 6:30 p.m.
the County will provide a brief introduction, a summary of the history of
the project, and the findings of the DEIS. At 7:00 p.m. the public will be
provided the opportunity to give oral comments on the DEIS that will be
considered in the preparation of the Final EIS. Anyone who wishes may
also submit written comments on comment forms provided at the meetings,
or by mail with a postmark no later than May 23, 2018.
