MANUEL ANG, MD Age 75, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Straub Hospital in Honolulu. He was born on May 26, 1942 in Manila, Philippines. He received his medical degree from the University of the East in 1967. Dr. Ang came to America for his medical residencies, first in Toledo, Ohio, then to Honolulu, where he met his wife Beverly who was a nurse at The Queen’s Medical Center. They married on April, 15, 1972. He continued his residencies in Puerto Rico and San Francisco, CA, and became board certified in pediatrics and general surgery. He then returned to Hawaii where he joined the Ala Moana Medical Clinic before opening his own private medical practice with Beverly at The Liliha Medical Building in 1987. He practiced until the day of his passing. Manuel was a member of the Hawaii Medical Association and the Honolulu County Medical Society where he was serving as the current Secretary. Dr. Ang will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle, and physician, who treated his patients with as much love and care as his own family. He put the lives of others before his own and touched many souls from every station in life always taking the time to sit and listen. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Beverly, sons, Manuel Jr. and Christopher, and daughter, Kimberly and son-in-law, Kurt Zwald, and his younger sisters, Rosita Schwaiger and Elena Quiroz. Funeral services will be held on December 20, 2017 at Mary, Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church. Visitation: 9:30 am. Eulogy: 10:30 am. Service: 11 am. Refreshments to follow.
