Stanley Woon Honn Chung, 94, our beloved father & family patriarch, passed peacefully at home on February 7, 2025. Stanley was born on March 31, 1930, in Honolulu, HI to En Kui and Mabel Chung. He was a graduate of St. Louis High School, Class of ’49, earning accolades as a standout basketball player. His 34 year career with the DOE started in Pahala on the Big Island, and later at Roosevelt High School, where he retired as Athletic Director in 1988. Stanley is survived by his sons, Gordon (Hui Ping Mo), & John, daughters, Lianne, Cindy Caster (Frank), Penny Kaniho (Kazu), & grandchildren, Keola, Kainoa & Kealani. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa- 712 N. School St. in Honolulu. Visitation-10:00am, Mass-11:00am. Aloha attire. The family requests no flowers or monetary gifts. |
