TO DEFENDANTS: ROSE BOTELHO and JAMES BROWN
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT Plaintiff UNIVERSITY OF HAWAI’I (“Plaintiff”) has filed a Complaint against you in the Circuit Court of the First Circuit, State of Hawai’i, in Civil No. 1CCV-24-0000637 (SMK) wherein Plaintiff prays for (i) an order and judgment quieting title as to the properties located at 58-160 Kamehameha Highway, Pupukea, Hawai’i 96712, Tax Map Key Nos. (1) 5-8-001-006, (1) 5-8-001-007, (1) 5-8-001-013, and (1) 5-8-001-055 (collectively, the “Property”), (ii) judgment forever enjoining you and/or any and all other persons who claim or may claim an alleged interest in the Property by or through you, (iii) a determination by the Court that under Hawai’i Revised Statutes Chapter 669, Plaintiff’s title to the Property is superior to that of yours and/or any and all other persons who claim or may claim an alleged interest in the Property by or through you, and (iv) any such other and further legal and equitable relief as the Court deems just and appropriate in the circumstances.
YOU ARE HEREBY SUMMONED to appear in the courtroom of the Honorable Shirley M. Kawamura, Judge of the above-entitled Court, in her Courtroom at 777 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu, Hawai’i, on April 1, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. or to file an answer or other pleadings and to serve it before said day upon SUMMER H. KAIAWE and VANESSA D. WEN, attorneys for Plaintiff, whose address is at First Hawaiian Center, 999 Bishop Street, Suite 1250, Honolulu, Hawai’i, 96813. If you fail to do so, judgment by default will be taken against you for the relief demanded in the operative Complaint. A failure to obey this summons may result in an entry of default and default judgment against the disobeying person or party.
