1. Climate-Controlled Farming Systems to grow various crops including, but not limited to, various lettuces, strawberries, herbs, and other high value vegetables. Up to three (3) systems are expected to be procured. Proposers should provide system descriptions, specifications, and cost which should include installation, support and training.

2. Consultants to support Community Building through ongoing engagement with the Waianae Community. The engagement will entail quarterly community meetings and ongoing communications with the community, and regular consultation and project updates with the project team. This effort may require multiple individuals on a part-time basis, and coordination between selected parties will be essential to the success of the project. Respondents should be residents of Waianae or have strong community recognition.

3. Subcontractor for engineering and technical support for a community-based project in Waianae, Hawaii. The contractor shall perform the following activities: installation and support/training for the climate-controlled farming system(s) and micro-grid system(s) and include consultation with existing consultant(s) to optimize the placement of the systems and ensure that identified staff are trained for workforce development and ongoing maintenance and systems support. This will be an effort over 3 years, but the primary effort will be in the first year with monthly follow-up for operations and maintenance support, and reporting. Experience with climate-controlled farming systems is highly desired but not required.

4. Subcontractor for Pollution Mitigation and Stormwater Runoff Abatement.

5. Sources of Micro-Grid Systems. Up to 5 systems are expected to be provided with various configurations to best meet the requirements of the facility and users. At minimum, the systems will power villages of homes with a central kitchen and restroom facility, and a climate-controlled farming system. Proposers should provide system descriptions, specifications, and cost which should include installation, support and training.
