ESTELLE MITSUE KIYAMA Of Aina Haina, Hawaii, passed away on November 17, 2022. She was born in Honolulu to George and Betsy Yamada on July 2, 1940. She attended Kapalama Elementary, Stevenson Intermediate and Roosevelt High School class of 1958. Estelle’s teaching career spanned 35 years at Kaawa Elementary, Wailupe Elementary, and Kamiloiki Elementary Schools. Beyond her passion for teaching, she was a leader in developing staff workshops and building the gifted and talented program. Estelle loved her boxer dogs, crafting, travelling, shopping, and especially lunching with friends. Estelle is pre-deceased by husband Wayne. She is survived by her sister Elaine (Michael predeceased) Matsuura, her nephews George (Ann) Matsuura and Gregg (Charmaine) Matsuura, and her niece Michelle (Edward) Dunn. A memorial service will be held at the Nuuanu Memorial Park at 2233 Nuuanu Avenue on Saturday, February 11, 2023. Visitation at 10am and Service at 11am. In lieu of flower and monetary gifts, donations should be made to the American Diabetes Association (in memory of Estelle Kiyama).
