EDWIN ALLEN DULEY IV

Edwin Allen Duley IV died on September 22, 2022. He was born on February 27, 1950, at the Naval Academy Hospital in Annapolis, Maryland. Preceded in death were his parents, Edwin Allen Duley III and Beatrice Etta (Geiselman) Duley. He was a paper boy for the Maryland Gazette from 1964 until 1966. He graduated Northeast High School, Pasadena, Maryland Class of 1968, and enlisted in the US ARMY. Army assignments included duty in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Karlsruhe, Germany and two assignments in Oahu, Hawaii. He retired from the US Army–Corps of Engineers on March 1, 1992, after serving over 23 years. Using his GI Bill Education, he earned graduate degrees in both Education Administration and Public Administration. He was a substitute teacher at Radford High School in Honolulu and Eau Gallie High School in Melbourne, Florida for over 20 years.
Activities and interests included Volunteering for the Women’s Center, and Calvary Chapel, Melbourne Florida. Also, volunteered at the Grant Seafood Festival for many years. He was a Brevard Manatees Baseball season ticket holder, FIT and EFSC sports fan, high school Lacrosse volunteer coach, a member of the Mallard Landing Golf Men’s League, Calvary Chapel Breaking Bread Group, and the Patrick Air Force Base Tides Club and Marina. He was an active runner with the Running Zone Race Series and completed over five hundred races from 5K to full marathons both in Hawaii and Florida for over thirty plus years.
Survived by his wife of 41 years, Larenda (Stewart, Henderson) Duley; Children: Edwin Allen Duley V of Ft Collins, Colorado, Cheryl Lynn (Duley, Laughlin) Abeyta of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Cara Michelle (Henderson) Metallo of Aspinwall, Pennsylvania; Grandchildren: Sergeant Leona Laughlin stationed in Oahu, Hawaii, Nina Abeyta of Grand Junction, Colorado, Gianna Metallo and Luca Metallo of Aspinwall, Pennsylvania; Sisters: Terri (Duley, Holman) Warner, Nancy (Duley) Allen, and Brother Charles Michael Duley, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. "Thank you to Sons-in-law, Ernie Abeyta and Jerry Metallo, for loving and caring for my daughters (Cheryl and Cara), Tiffany Booth, my “weekend” daughter, and Shannon Gillingham and Beth Gross, special and loving nieces."
