RAYMOND MAIKUI

Raymond Maikui passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2022. Ray was born in Honolulu and was raised in Hilo by his grandparents, Reverends John and Louisa Maikui (dec) of Mauloa on Hawaii Island. Ray returned to Honolulu as a youth and was then raised by his parents Harry Maikui, Sr. (dec) and Diana Soares (dec). Ray graduated from Radford High School in 1978 and retired as a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by sons Isaiah (Briana) Maikui and Ian (Alissa) Kaawaloa; daughters: Tatiana (Kirk) Maikui-Masuda, Titania (Kama) Maikui-Purdy, and Sara (Jerry) Maikui-Gaff and 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers: John Maikui, Harry (Kaui) Maikui, Chad (Nicole) Soares, John Soares, Ted (Patty) Soares, and Derek (Gina) Parsons; sisters: Tracy Noe (George) Aiwohi, Rondelle (Blaisdell) Ayau, and Sandy (Brett) Spinn and his loving companion Jonelle Kane.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Diamond Head Mortuary. Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m.; Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m.
