NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The State Public Charter School Commission ("Commission") will hold a public hearing to hear all persons interested in the proposal to amend and promulgate chapters under Title 8, Hawaii Administrative Rules ("HAR"), as follows: 1. Amend Chapter 8-501 State Public Charter School Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure to add the definition of "Executive director" to enable the Commission to delegate its authority to the executive director to enact the process regarding proceedings before the Commission; 2. Promulgate new Chapter 8-502 State Public Charter School Commission Proceedings Before the Commission. These rules then establish the process by which the Commission may further create the process for rulemaking also being promulgated in new Chapter 8-503; and 3. Promulgate new Chapter 8-503 State Public Charter School Commission Rules Applicable for Rulemaking Proceedings. These rules provide the process by which the Commission may make new rules in the future and the rules for making such rules. A public hearing will be held on: Monday, November 20, 2017 at 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. State Public Charter School Commission, Conference Room 1111 Bishop Street, Suite 516, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813 The proposed rules may be viewed and downloaded free of charge from the Commission’s website at http://www.chartercommission.hawaii.gov/. The proposed rules may also be reviewed in person free of charge between 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding State and federal holidays, at the Commission’s office at 1111 Bishop Street, Suite 516, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96813. A copy of the proposed rules may be picked up, subject to copying fees, at the aforementioned address during the days and hours of operation listed. A copy of the proposed rules may also be mailed to any person who requests a copy, subject to copying and postage fees. The request must be submitted in writing to the Commission at the aforementioned address and include mailing and contact information for the requestor and the required payment in the form of a check made payable to "State Public Charter School Commission."
