NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATIONAL MEETING FOR NATIONAL
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT (NEPA), CHAPTER 343, HAWAII REVISED
STATUTES (HRS), AND SECTION 106 OF THE NATIONAL HISTORIC
PRESERVATION ACT (NHPA) OF 1966 AS AMENDED (2006) CONSULTATION
Waia-hole Stream Bridge Replacement Project

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the State of Hawai’i, Department of Transportation, Highways
Division (HDOT) in coordination with the Federal Highway Administration, will be holding a
public informational meeting for the Waia-hole Stream Bridge Replacement Project in accordance
with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Chapter 343 Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS),
and Section 106 National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
The purpose of the meeting is to gather community input per NEPA and Chapter 343, HRS, and
consult with Native Hawaiian Organization and Native Hawaiian descendants with ancestral, lineal
or cultural ties to, cultural knowledge or concerns for and cultural religious attachment to the
proposed project area pursuant to Section 106 of the NHPA of 1966, as amended (2006).
There will be a brief presentation of the project and an opportunity to ask HDOT representatives questions
regarding the proposed project. The meeting is scheduled at the following location and time:
October 30, 2018
6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
