Janet Shigeko Yamamoto, 90, of Kaneohe, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 31, 2025. Born in Kilauea, Kauai to the late Henry K. and Mary F. (Kawaguchi) Moritsugu, Janet grew up with strong values of love, kindness, and hard work. She attended Kauai High School before moving to Honolulu, where she graduated from the Honolulu Business College. She dedicated over 32 years to Sheraton Hotels of Hawaii, retiring from the Human Resources Department, where her warm heart and aloha spirit touched the lives of many. More than anything, Janet cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and a beloved sister. Her love was felt in every meal she cooked, every hug she gave, and every moment she spent caring for those around her. Her gentle spirit, boundless kindness, and the warmth of her aloha will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by: her husband of 70 years, Shigeru Yamamoto; her five children, Sheryl Yamamoto, Lily Yamamoto, Lisa (Darrell) Cox, Regan (Junie) Yamamoto and Sheila (Gordon) Kagawa; her five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and her dear sisters, Leatrice K. Togikawa, Fay M. Utsugi and Adel S. (Clifford) Hamai. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry K. and Mary F. (Kawaguchi) Moritsugu, sister Jean M. Moritsugu and brother Warren K. Moritsugu. Private services will be held by the family. |
