KAREN KIYOKO KIYABU Born on December 6, 1954, a beloved mother passed away on March 23, 2025. Karen was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She attended St. Francis School before attending the University of Puget Sound where she studied anthropology and political science. She and her husband, Thomas Kiyabu, were married for 41 years and they raised two sons, Reid and Robin. Karen was a devoted mother, devout Christian, and considerate neighbor who always thought of others and put their needs above her own. She was renowned as an avid baker and home cook who donated her delicious creations to school bake sales, her sons’ sporting events, church functions, and community service organizations, such as Meals on Wheels. Karen’s celebration of life will take place at Central Union Church Main Sanctuary on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 with visitation from 4:30-5PM, service at 5PM, and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to St. Francis Hospice.
