JOHN S.Y. LAU John S. Y. Lau, 77, of Honolulu has transitioned peacefully into the arms of our Lord at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 22, 2024. A forever loving husband to his wife Connie, a role model to his son Jonathan, a cherished second father to his daughter-in-law Lyndy, an inspiring yeh yeh to his grandson Carter (13), and much more to the lives of friends and family that he has touched. John was born in Hong Kong on October 4, 1946. He attended the University of Hawaii as an international student where he graduated and also met Connie. Over an illustrious career in real estate and insurance that allowed him to travel extensively with his family and to live in Hong Kong, John decided to retire in his late 50’s to enjoy his passion for golf, home and garden improvements, and very simply to spend quality time with his family. Service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at St. Peter and Paul Church (800 Kaheka Street Honolulu, HI 96814) 12:30pm – 1:00pm: Visitation; 1:00pm – 2:00pm: Funeral Mass; 2:30pm: Burial at Manoa Chinese Cemetery (3225 Pakanu St. Honolulu, HI 96822). In lieu of flowers and gifts, remembrances can be made through contributions to John’s parish St. Peter and Paul Church.
