ALBERTO MEDINA BELISO

Albert Medina Beliso, born on July 20, 1934, to Luis Beliso and Encarnacion Medina-Beliso, passed away on April 20, 2024. He was a cherished husband to Norma Calip Beliso for 67 years and a devoted father to their five children.

A street-smart education and endless determination played a role early in life as Albert was struck with adversity. He faced the loss of his father who was reported K.I.A. during the war. He and his siblings navigated the hardships, developing a unity of strength and loyalty. He would later serve proudly in the US Air Force before settling in San Francisco, where he helped their mother operate her restaurants. Albert would soon take over one of the establishments: the "Family Inn".

He shared a love for music with Norma, often performing at home with close friends. Albert on timbales and Norma singing. He instilled in their children a sense of independence and resilience. He could fix just about anything. He had a passion for buying and repairing classic cars, a hobby his children admired, especially Albert Jr., who would later follow in his father’s footsteps.

The journey continued with the many road trips. Snow days at Lake Tahoe. Oysters and abalone at Bodega Bay. Weekend drives across the Golden Gate Bridge for a day of swimming at Marin County. And a stroll down Main Street, USA over at Disneyland. Times we will all cherish.

Albert’s entrepreneurial skills fueled his spirit in several business ventures and real estate. Most recently an Airbnb in Waikiki. You could say this awoke the kid in him. He enjoyed going to Ala Moana with Norma, taking daily walks along the Ala Wai Canal, and listening to Sinatra, Frankie Valli, Tony Bennett, and more. Oh, the good life.

Albert’s memory lives on through his family and the lives he touched with his kindness and humor. We are filled with gratitude for your love and guidance. We’re grateful for your neverending caring for Mom and your children. You showed us love that shines through even the darkest times. You are now our guardian angel and our brightest star. We will cherish our memories and feel blessed for the gift of time we had with you. We will always remember your tender-hearted words, "Take care of your family".

A hui hou, our dearest dad. We love you eternally.

~ Your Loving Children.
