SHARON JEAN SCHAMBER

Sharon Jean Oswald Schamber died at home in Kailua on April 22, 2023, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Dean T. Schamber. She was born to parents Arnold and Jeanne Oswald in New Ulm, Minnesota on April 1, 1934. Sharon attended public school in New Ulm and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Minnesota in 1957. She moved to Hawaii in 1973. In 1976 Sharon became a Realtor with Real Estators, Ltd., before opening her own firm Sharon Schamber, Inc. in 1988. Sharon enjoyed a successful career, serving many clients and making many good friends in the process. She delighted in connecting with people and was an active member of Hawaii Association of Realtors, and was a past president of the Hawaii Chapter of Certified Residential Specialists. She was also very active with St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Soroptimists, PEO, her neighborhood association, and several informal friendship circles. She had many friends that attended Punahou.
Sharon is survived by her children, James Schamber of Volcano, Hawaii, Stephanie Hika and LeeAnn Stephan of Kailua, Hawaii, and John Schamber and Wayne Yoshigai of Honolulu, Hawaii; seven granddaughters; sister Betsy Bradford of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and her sister and brother-in-law Christine and Randy Rahn of Edmonds, Washington; Aunt Margaret Oswald, New Ulm, Minnesota, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sharon’s funeral will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Kapahulu on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
