88, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 at Straub Medical Center in Honolulu. She was born on December 6, 1934.
Margaret was known as "Marge" to her friends and co-workers, and most affectionately known as "Mema" to her family.
Marge was a 1952 graduate of Farrington High School. She worked as a police radio dispatcher at the Honolulu Police Department where she retired in 1994 after 26 years of service.
She was a great cook, an avid sports fan, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mema was recently preceded in death by her eldest son, Eldon Ellery (Eloise) Chow, who passed away in Las Vegas on Christmas Day 12/25/2022. She is also preceded in death by her late husband, 2nd Lt Calvin Chow and brother, Yong Un Pyun.
She is survived by her brother, Retired Col John Lee (Tensie); sister-in-law Joanne "Ogi" Pyun; 6 children: Lorrie McCready (John), Laura Mae Leslie (Wayne), Michael Chow (Abaline), Lee Chow, Jamie Kaopuiki (George), and Elizabeth "Kappy" Iseke. Mema was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 34 great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Nu’uanu Memorial Park Mortuary – East Chapel on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 4:00pm, with services to follow at 5:00. Burial will be held at the Punchbowl National Cemetery of the Pacific on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 0930.
