Dr. Robert Warren Wilkinson ("Dr. Bob") passed away on December 24, 2022 in Oakmont, Santa Rosa, California after bravely fighting a recurring illness. He was 81 years old. He is survived by wife Mary "Molly" Marx Wilkinson, daughter Malia (Joe) Peterson, son Patrick Wilkinson, grandchildren Ned and Owen Peterson and Savanna Wilkinson and siblings Jerry, Paul, Julie and Nancy Wilkinson. He was born January 30, 1941 in Hawaii and spent his early childhood on the island of Lana’i during WWII. Bob attended Punahou School, University of Notre Dame and University of Tulane Medical School. Bob married Mary Marx, "Molly", on September 3, 1964 and while they lived in New Orleans daughter Malia and son Pat were born. After internship and residency in Los Angeles, he served the U.S. Army as a Medical Officer in Viet Nam. He began his Honolulu practice in Pediatric Medicine caring for children aflicted with cancer and blood disorders. Dr. Wilkinson retired from clinical practice in January of 2016 after 42 years of serving the community. He served on the University of Hawaii School of Medicine faculty mentoring medical students and residents until he was 80. An avid golfer at the Oahu Country Club and Valley of the Moon Golf club in Santa Rosa, Dr. Bob’s other recreational pursuits included fishing in Alaska, hunting in Montana, windsurfing and working with stained glass. A funeral service was held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Santa Rosa on Friday January 20, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be at 10 am Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Oahu Country Club in Honolulu.
