87, of Kane’ohe, Hawaii, passed away on August 19, 2022. He was born in Waialua, Hawaii on February 6, 1935, and graduated from Roosevelt High School class of 1953. He retired in 1996 after 22 years as an Assistant Chief for the State of Hawaii Fire Department at Honolulu International Airport.

Nate was a devoted and loving husband and father. He and his wife Geri loved to travel, and he accompanied her on many trips – especially to Las Vegas – with her travel agency, Windward Holo Holo Travel. He was a true sports enthusiast and spent some of his finest days playing and working at the golf course. He was passionate and truly cared for his “fire guys,” and will be remembered as being loved and respected by all.

He is survived by, son, Tony; daughter, Yvette; step sons, Harvey and William (Japen); granddaughter, Krislin (Herb); 14 additional grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on September 16, 2022 at Borthwick Mortuary, Maunakea Chapel. Visitation begins at 9 am; Service at 10 am. Burial to follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park at 1 pm. Aloha attire suggested. Flowers welcome.
