CHARLES YOSHITO HIRASHIKI Born in Honolulu to Paul & Mildred Hirashiki, Charlie was proud of his Okinawan heritage (Yonabaru Chojin Kai) and his roots growing up on Austin Lane in Palama. Attended Kaiulani Elementary School & graduated from Iolani School ’51. Served in the US Army & earned his teaching degree from the University of Hawaii. Began his teaching career at Waimea High School and taught for many years at Niu Valley Intermediate School & Kalani High School. Preceded in death by wife Kay (Watanabe). Survived by children Scott (Missy) & Charla (Gregg); grandsons Shane, Kaelen & Alex; brother Francis (Carol), & many nieces & nephews. Private services pending. Please no monetary gifts.
