Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii (A Hawaii Non-Profit Corporation)

INVITATION FOR BID (IFB)

I. PHASE I – REPAIRS AND UPGRADES TO NANAKULI TEEN CENTER FACILITY AND GROUNDS: Replace entrance gate and perimeter fencing; replace multiple air conditioning units.

II. PHASE II – REPAIRS AND UPGRADES TO NANAKULI YET CLUBHOUSE FACILITY AND GROUNDS: Repair motorized windows; replace multiple exterior lighting and ballasts; repair or replace garden and grounds irrigation system.

III. PHASE III – REPAIRS AND UPGRADES TO WAI’ANAE CLUBHOUSE: Repair leaking roof; fire alarm system repair or upgrade; repair or replace gutters; install external security lighting for building and parking lot; repair or upgrade sprinkler system; install security cages on multiple external areas; install perimeter fencing and parking lot gate; install security gate for front entrance, upgrade entrance locks on clubhouse and storage buildings; replace multiple air conditioning units; replace multiple interior lighting and ballasts; replace and install kitchen sink.

Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii is seeking a minimum of three bids submitted under this IFB.

IFB DUE DATE: The preferred method of response is by EMAIL to Amanda Panyarat at apan@bgch.com with the bid in pdf format as an attachment addressing the requirements of this IFB no later than 4:00PM Hawaii Standard Time, November 26, 2021.

If email is not an option, one original and three (3) copies of the bid addressing the requirements of this IFB must be received by 4:00 PM Hawaii Standard Time, November 26, 2021 at the main office of the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii, 1000 Bishop Street, Suite 505, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813.

Bids received by email or delivered to the main office after the stated time will not be accepted and will be returned to the sender. (NO FAXES WILL BE ACCEPTED)

ESTIMATED AWARD DATE

Award of bid is estimated to be no later than December 17, 2021. All bidders will be notified by email of the results of the award.

ESTIMATED PROJECT COMPLETION DATE

Selected Contractor must be able to complete the project including final sign off by Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii authorized personnel no later than October 31, 2022.

The Date of Commencement shall be stated in a written Notice to Proceed issued by Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii is requesting bids from qualified, Licensed General Contractors to project manage and furnish any and all professional services necessary for the facility improvements and repairs for the Nanakuli Teen Center, Nanakuli YET Clubhouse and Wai’anae Clubhouse as detailed in the IFB invitation section. All bids must be inclusive of goods, services, fees and taxes, as applicable.

Contractors must also provide a Certificate of Additional Insured, naming the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii and the State of Hawaii as additional Insured.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii Contractor’s license and valid license
classifications for all specialty contractor classifications required.

PROJECT FUNDING

This project is being funded in whole or in part by the Capital Improvement Project (CIP) Grant in Aid, as administered by the State of Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Office of Community Services. The successful awardee shall be responsible for the compliance with all current County, State, and Federal laws, rules, ordinances, and regulations. Contractors and subcontractors are obligated to comply with provision of payment of not less than Federal or State prevailing Wages, whichever is higher, for all laborers and mechanics and with other provisions set forth in the bid documents.
