SIDNEY LEROY MERCADO Sidney Leroy Mercado, 77, of Waimea, Hawaii and formerly of Honolulu died Mar. 18, 2021 at the North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired social worker for the State of Hawaii, member of Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church in Kalihi, Hawaii United Okinawan Association and a veteran of the U.S. Army while serving overseas in Japan. Visitation from 10-11 a.m. Saturday (August 28, 2021) at the Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church (1614 Monte St.); memorial mass at 11 a.m. Casual attire. Face masks and social distancing to be observed. Survived by daughters, Kelsi Mercado of Waimea, Lia Mercado of Waimea; son, Cody Mercado of Hilo; Sister, Yolanda (Albert) Willing of Hawaii Kai; brother, Robin (Beverly) Mercado of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.
