LIVINGSTON M. F. WONG, MD FACS 90, of Honolulu passed away on October 25, 2020 in Honolulu. Livingston Wong was born in Honolulu in 1930 the eldest son of Ah Kwo and Sun Lin Wong. He graduated from Maryknoll School in 1948 and University of Hawaii in 1952, completed medical school at University of Oregon and surgical residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Returning to Oahu in 1965, Dr. Wong set up his surgical practice, and formed a team that would perform Hawaii’s first kidney transplant in 1969 and first bone marrow transplant in 1978. In 1972, he started Hawaii’s emergency medical system (EMS) to improve care for patients. Predeceased by sisters Lavinia and Alana, Livingston is survived by his wife Linda, his brother Alvin (Trudy), daughters Rosemarie (Bill), Linda and Jessica (John), sons Jack (Kimi) and Lyle (Denise), eight grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
