PATSY MURANAKA CHESSER
91, of Kailua, died February 1, in Waipahu.
Patsy was born in Eleele, Kauai, on March 2, 1928. She grew up in Hanapepe, and graduated from Waimea High School. Following her graduation from Michigan State in 1966, she taught 8th grade science at Mott High School, in Troy, Michigan. She returned to Hawaii to teach science in 1970, at Kailua High School. There, she met Kerry Chesser, who was also teaching science. Both eventually transferred to Kalaheo High School. They were married in 1975, and he survives. Patsy and Kerry retired in 2003. Patsy was quite skilled in cooking, computers, sewing, crocheting, growing orchids, photography, and held a master board in ikebana (Japanese flower- arranging.) A memorial service at the Chesser home is pending. |
