HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu Department of Design and Construction will be conducting a Public Information Meeting and Community Noise Variance Consultation. This meeting is to inform the public of construction work and solicit input on the proposed night and Sunday work for the Rehabilitation of Streets Kapiolani Boulevard project from Ward Avenue to South King Street. This work will be done in two (2) phases. The first Project, Unit 89A, from Atkinson Drive to South King Street, is estimated to begin as early as August 2020 and major construction activities are expected to be completedin one year. The second Project, Unit 89B, from Ward Avenue to Atkinson Drive, will follow Unit 89A, and is also estimated to be completed in one year.
The scope of these Projects consist of cold planing; reconstructing the roadway with asphalt concrete pavement; adjusting utility manhole frames and covers; replacing existing vehicle loop detectors; installing pavement markings and striping; reconstructing existing curbs and/or gutters; and tree root and crown pruning.
This meeting is scheduled for the following location and time:
