Community Noise Control, Variance Application No. V-1137, Docket No. 19-NR-VN-57

HONOLULU – The State of Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) will be conducting a Public Information and Community Noise Variance Application Consultation Meeting. This meeting is to inform the public of construction work and solicit input on the proposed night and Sunday work for the Interstate Route H-201 Outbound Auxiliary Lane Project from the Vicinity of H-3 Underpass to the Fort Shafter Off-Ramp. The project is estimated to begin as early as March 2020 and major construction activities are expected to be completed by March 2021.

The purpose of the Project is to continue the existing left auxiliary lane for the Aiea/Pearlridge Off-Ramp back toward Fort Shafter to provide an additional lane through the area. The project consists of installing striping, pavement marking, signage, and traffic counting stations; cold planing, resurfacing, and reconstructing spot areas; cleaning out existing drains; removal of grass and silt buildup adjacent to roadway in spot areas; and trimming of hedges along the freeway median. In lieu of trimming the hedges, the hedges may be removed and replaced with a temporary glare screen.

This meeting for the public is scheduled for the following location and time:

Wednesday, November 20, 2019, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
