NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

SEALED BIDS will be received up to and publicly opened and read aloud at
2:00 p.m.

November 1, 2019 in the office of Pacific Housing Assistance Corporation at 888 Iwilei Road, Suite 200, Honolulu, Hawaii 96817 for the following project:

TENANT IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE
LIVE WELL ADULT DAYCARE CENTER

BY KAHALA NUI

FOR PACIFIC HOUSING ASSISTANCE CORPORATION

AT 888 IWILEI ROAD, SUITE 110,

HONOLULU, OAHU, HAWAII

The work shall generally consist of furnishing labor and materials for the interior renovation and expansion into unoccupied space adjacent to the existing LIVE WELL ADULT DAYCARE CENTER by KAHALA NUI at the Senior Residence at Iwilei located at 888 Iwilei Road, Suite 110, Honolulu, HI 96817. The work consists of, but is not limited to selective demolition, miscellaneous metals, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, architectural woodwork, interior finishes, plumbing, electrical, and other related Work (“the Project”).

Proposal documents may be obtained by eligible bidders from Pacific Housing Assistance Corporation with a deposit of FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) per set, by check made payable to Pacific Housing Assistance Corporation. The deposit shall be refunded upon the return of the plans and specifications, provided that they are returned intact and in good condition within fifteen (15) days following the date designated for the opening of the bids. No refunds shall be made after the expiration of such period. The Proposal documents will be available from October 2, 2019.

To be eligible to bid, prospective bidders must give written notice of their intention to bid. Bidders shall be licensed in accordance with Chapter 444 HRS, relating to the licensing of contractors. Such written notice must be hand-carried, mailed or emailed to karakawa@pacific-housing.org sufficiently ahead of time to be received by Pacific Housing Assistance Corporation NO LATER than 2:00 pm on October 18, 2019. See Intent to Bid document.

A pre-bid conference and walk-through of the job site will be held on October 8, 2019 at 10:00 am. Interested bidders shall meet at the Project site at 888 Iwilei Road, Suite 110, Honolulu, HI 96817. No other time for site inspection will be scheduled or allowed.

The Project will be federally funded under Title 1 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (Public Law 93-383); HUD Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Contractors will be required to comply with all applicable State and Federal regulations including those relating to labor standards in effect at the time the contract is executed.

All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security for the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount.

Bidders’ attention is directed to Act 352, SLH 1997, related to the requirement for tax clearances from the State Department of Taxation and the Internal Revenue Service, as a prerequisite to entering into contract and upon final payment of the contract.

Qualified small and minority business firms, firms owned by women, and Section 3 firms are encouraged to apply.
