KENNETH DAI HING YUEN

91, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Wednesday, July 31, 2019. He was born in Honolulu on September 15, 1927 to parents Benjamin and Margaret Yuen.
Kenneth grew up in Pauoa, and was president of the St. Louis High School Class of 1945. After graduation from the University of Hawaii, Kenneth worked at the Hickam Air Force Base, Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Federal Aviation Administration and retired after working 33 years for the federal government. He served in the Army and was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant in 1947.
He married Alverna Ho at the age of 24, and raised four sons. Kenneth enjoyed annual mainland trips to visit his sons and
occasional side trips to Las Vegas. In his spare time, Kenneth enjoyed tending to his beautiful yard, watching football, and enjoying a cold one with his family and friends. Kenneth was an excellent public speaker and he served as district governor of Toastmasters International.
He is survived by sons, Kevin, Chris (Norine), Kent (Lynn), and Kenn (Kimberly), seven grandchildren and one great grandson.

A Celebration of Kenneth’s Life will be held on
Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Borthwick Mortuary.
Visitation at 3:00 p.m. with remembrances to begin at 4:00 p.m.
A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 19, 2019
12 noon at St. Louis School’s Mystical Rose Chapel.
Inurnment to follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
