NOTICE OF FINDINGS
Notice is hereby given that the US Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District, on behalf of the Department of Public Works, U.S. Army Garrison, Hawaii is seeking public input regarding the installation of one (1) underground 12″ sewer force main and one underground (1) 24″ sanitary sewer line. The two (2) sewer lines being installed are replacing existing deficient sewer lines which both cross and run parallel to Kahauiki Stream as a part of the Command and Control Facility project on Fort Shafter. A portion of both underground sewer lines are located within the 100-year floodplain (1% chance flood).
A 14-day public comment period was initiated through a Public Notice in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser on 27 March 2019. No comments were received on the proposed action. After careful evaluation, it has been determined that there are no practicable alternatives to the action of the installation of one (1) underground 12″ sewer force main and one underground (1) 24″ sanitary sewer line.
