Notice of Availability – Decision and Finding of No Significant Impact
Final Environmental Assessment: Feral Swine Damage Management in Hawai`i
Wildlife Services (WS), a program within the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service program has issued a Decision and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Environmental Assessment (EA), “Feral Swine Damage Management in Hawai`i”. The EA evaluated potential impacts to the quality of the human environment from the implementation of a feral swine damage management program. A Decision and FONSI was signed on March 11, 2019 selecting to implement the proposed action alternative, Alternative 1.
Based on the analyses contained in the EA and the associated Decision/FONSI, it was concluded that implementation of the proposed action alternative (Alternative 1) would not have a significant impact upon the quality of the human environment. Alternative 1 continues the current feral swine damage management program in Hawai`i, and expands its availability to entities throughout Hawai`i. It continues the application of an integrated approach, using a variety of nonlethal and lethal methods, to reduce damage by and conflicts with feral swine in Hawai`i.
