MAY TOM GADY Intelligent, adventurous and loving was how May lived her life, even as she passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019. She was born February 24, 1930 in Wahiawa to Bung Chin Tom and Suck Lim Lee. She was a graduate of Leilehua High School and University of Hawaii. While working in Japan as a librarian at Camp Zama, she met her future husband, Dr. Howard Gady. May and Howard were joined in marriage on June 22, 1957 in Denver, Colorado where she earned her Master’s degree in Library Science. Howard was truly the love of her life, and the two traveled the world. Together, they enjoyed many adventures and successes. May was a loving and dedicated wife and mother; exuberant educator and an exceptionally intelligent and caring person. Private services were held January 12 & 15, 2019 in Honolulu. May was predeceased by her parents, a sister Jane, brother Thomas and sister Daisy Ballard. She is survived by six sisters and brothers; her daughter Koralee Gady Asbee (Brian) and her children Clark and Lorelei; and her son Barrett (Wendy) and children Shoshana, Jared, Malia and Abram.
