WALTER KANAELEHUA HUSSEY JR. Walter Kanaelehua Hussey Jr., 77 of Waikele & Kailua-Kona, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2018 in Aiea. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on March 29, 1941. He graduated from St. Louis High School Class of ’59, served in the US Army National Guard, and retired from Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard as a Nuclear Inspector after 31 years of service. He was an avid golfer, loved the ocean as surfed, dived and fished, loved sports, especially football, but most dedicated his love to his family, especially his mo’opuna as made it of utmost importance to be at every event they participated in, and he loved our Almighty God! He is survived by his loving wife Loretta O deFries Hussey; daughters Andrea K Hussey (Lance) Leong, Michelle L Hussey, Nicole H Hussey (Sohn) Lee; grandchildren Taylor M, Brock K, Haley "Kani" Namuo, Lauren K, Lindsey M, Leiana U Leong, Ethan "Kawena", Maya "Anela", Anya "Mehana", Sanoe Lee; Great granddaughter Taelynn Kanaelehua Hoapili-Namuo; sister Rosemary Afong; nieces Dezeere (Richard) Thomas, Sarahlynn (Wendell) Aken, Winiford (Kendall) Lum; an aunt Dorcas Hussey and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Walter K. Hussey Sr. and mother Sarah K. Hussey. A celebration of Life takes place Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Mililani Memorial Park’s Makai Chapel. Visitation begins at 9:00 am, Service at 10:00 am and Lunch at 11:00 am. Burial will be 1:00 pm at Rose Garden right in back of the Chapel. |
