Environmental Assessment: Feral Swine Damage management in Hawai`i.
Wildlife Services (WS), a program within the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, has prepared a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA), “Feral Swine Damage Management in Hawai`i”. The EA analyzes the potential environmental impacts of alternatives for WS’ involvement in feral swine damage management. The proposed action is to implement an integrated approach using a variety of methods to reduce feral swine damage to agriculture, property, natural resources, and human health.
WS-Hawai`i is requesting that the public review and provide their comments on the Draft EA. Interested parties may obtain the EA by clicking https://www.regulations.gov/docket?D=APHIS-2018-0085 or contacting: USDA APHIS Wildlife Services, 3375 Koapaka Street, Suite H-420, Honolulu, HI 96819-1898. WS-Hawai`i requests that you submit comments on the Draft EA electronically or by sending comments to the address listed. To receive full consideration, WS-Hawai`i must receive all comments by the close of business on December 31, 2018. All comments received, including the names and addresses of those who comment, will be part of the public record and will be released for public review as required and allowed by law.
