FRANKLIN KIMBROUGH GRAY
Legendary Honolulu Architect, Frank K. Gray, passed away on October 16, 2018 shortly after celebrating his 87th birthday. He leaves behind two younger brothers, Billy Gray and Fred Antonacci.
He worked for Vladimir Ossipoff for several years where Frank worked on the Honolulu Airport and Outrigger Canoe Club, until opening his own firm. Frank was known for his uncompromising vision and adhered to his design concept that won him numerous architectural awards. Among his most notable projects were: Student Services Center at the University of Hawaii, Law Offices of Starn, O’Toole Marcus & Fisher, renovation of the Judiciary Building, Pauahi Tower in Downtown Honolulu and the renovation to the Bishop Street building.
Frank was a man of extraordinary ability and talent, bravely curious, a lover of life and beauty in all its forms. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend; a character, artist, pilot, author, sports car enthusiast, world traveler, and storyteller. He will be missed by
