John enjoyed a long, fulfilling career at the Board of Water Supply as a civil engineer and upon retirement was enticed to continue this work with Mink and Yuen alongside his dear friend John Mink.
A life long learner, skilled woodworker and dedicated runner, John enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, making furniture for loved ones and exercising at the Nu’uanu YMCA well into his senior years. Always one to give back, John volunteered at the Lyon Arboretum and Foster Botanical Gardens.

A quiet man of few but thoughtful words, John remains our shining example of prudence, simplicity and integrity. Thank you dad, for exemplifying what it means to lead a dignified life.
Per John’s request, a short service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific on October 29th at 9:30 am at the niche where he will be inurned. No flowers please.
