81, of Makiki, Hawaii passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home on September 21, 2018. He was born on March 9, 1937, in Kohala. He was a proud, retired U.S. Marine and “Cowboy” of Kohala High School. He worked as a commercial trucker for Hawaii Transfer Co., Ltd., from 1959 until retiring in 2011 at age 74.
Predeceased by father, Roman Espero; mother, Amoe Lee Luga; step-father, Francisco Luga; and brother, Dennis (Carol) Luga.
He is survived by siblings, Linda (Adam) Soliven, Benjamin Respicio, Larry (Lynne) Luga, Francis (Hue) Luga, Roland (Katherine) Luga, and Debra (Timothy) Mason; 7 nieces and 8 nephews; hanai daughter, Lori (Eric) Tomita; and hanai grandchildren, Tara and Cody Tomita.
Memorial Service will be on Saturday, October 20, 2018
Borthwick Mortuary, Mauka Chapel, Honolulu.
Visitation: 2:30 p.m.; Service: 3:30 p.m.
~ Casual attire. No flowers. ~
Private inurnment will be held at a later date at the
National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
