KATHY BROCK WOOLDRIDGE Kathy Brock Wooldridge, 61, died of cancer at home in San Diego on July 25th. Born in Honolulu, Kathy lived all over the world as a Coast Guard "brat", Navy Supply Corps Officer, and military spouse. Kathy loved Hawaii. She made her family’s home in Kailua into a beautiful tropical beach house, and did all she could to enable her family to fully enjoy a Hawaii lifestyle. During the almost 20 years her family lived on Oahu, Kathy also demonstrated a passion for supporting military families. She worked at Radford High School, helping to initiate the Transition Center for military students, and served as the School Liaison Officer for Navy Region Pearl Harbor. She broadened her efforts on behalf of military families by serving at USPACOM as Quality of Life Analyst, where she worked on resolving quality of life issues that affected military families throughout the Pacific. Kathy’s energy in support of military families was impressive, but her true passion was her own family. Kathy was completely devoted to her family, and selflessly and relentlessly supported everything they did. Through her unconditional love, she showed her family how to be moral, responsible, hardworking, and caring. She found enjoyment in listening to the music of Keali’i Reichel and Al Green, riding her bike down North Kalaheo Avenue, playing the piano for her parents, and eating ice cream. Kathy was also a devoted dog owner to Herschel, Einstein, Ping, Napoleon, and Zoe, and was convinced that they were all smarter than our current President. Kathy’s family will deeply miss the joy she brought to their lives through her humor, intelligence, compassion, strength, positivity, bravery, and love. She is survived by husband Tyler, daughters Ashley and Lindsey, son Brock, mother Janellen, brother David, sister Judy, and preceded in death by father Harold. A private service will be held when Kathy is interred at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. |
