ELEANOR SHIZUE NAGAO ENOMOTO IZUTSU 100, born in Kauai, a resident of Honolulu, passed away on May 10, 2018. The 11th of 13 children, she was the last survivor of them all and a true matriarch to the generations that followed. Eleanor was the kindest, most generous person who loved living in Hawaii with all its blessings. She was able to tend to her love of gardening well into her 90’s. Besides her kindness, she had a great depth of compassion that played out throughout her life in all the love and help she provided to so many. Eleanor was preceded in death in 1961 by her first husband, Thomas Toshio Enomoto, Sr., with whom she had five children: Aileen Hashimoto, Phyllis Lani (Paul) Sakanoi; Elaine Enomoto, Thomas (Sonny/Tom) (Lucille) Enomoto, and Dennis Enomoto. She was also preceded in death in 2017 by her second husband, Setsuo Izutsu, and is survived by her stepdaughter, Gail (Stan) Sakuma. The family extends special thanks and appreciation to her caregivers…. Romeo Cardenas, his wife Rachel, Jeff Caberto and Leonora Caldelinia. They went above and beyond at every turn and she called them her family as well. Services to be held on June 15, 2018, 10:00 Visitation, 11:00 Service, Nuuanu Memorial Park.
