Devoted husband and father, Davis Dennis Higa, 67, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2018 at his home in Kaneohe, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Honolulu, on December 17, 1950, to Walter and Marian Higa (predeceased). He received a Master of Business Administration degree, from the University of Hawai’i in 1975, and a Juris Doctor from the William S. Richardson School of Law in 1983.
Davis began his legal career as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the City and County of Honolulu, opened his own estate planning and probate practice, and retired as General Counsel for Delta Construction Corporation. He was an active member of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and in his retirement, enjoyed collecting Japanese art, gardening, and was an avid fan and season ticket holder for University of Hawai’i Football. Davis had a kind heart, a generous soul, and a rascal wit that endeared him to so many.
He is survived by wife, Karen Higa; son, Deven Higa; daughter, Kelly Higa; sister, Sue-Ann Kobatake (Kenneth); and beloved dog, Saru.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018, 11:00 am, at Hosoi Mortuary. Bright/colorful attire encouraged. Ashes to be scattered during private ceremony.
