RICHARD (DICK) DENISON Richard T. Denison of Kailua-Kona passed away peacefully at home on February 1, 2018. He was born in Honolulu. In his 95 years, he lived a full life of service to his family, country and community. Enlisting in the US Army Air Corps in 1942, he served as a pilot and flight instructor during WWII and the Korean War. He retired from the Air Force Reserves in 1983 as a Colonel. He was a manager for First Hawaiian Bank Kona, real estate broker at Gold Coast Realty, Kona Hawaiian Lands LTD and Golden Triangle Realty, and in various capacities with Kona Local Development Corporation, provided financial services for new businesses. His community associations included Rotary Club of Kona, Kona Elks Lodge, Kona Masonic Lodge, Kona Shrine Club, Small Business Advisory Council, Salvation Army and Kai O Pua Canoe Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing and was known to plant and maintain trees wherever he thought trees were needed. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Vlasta "Val" in 1993. He is survived by sons Michael Denison (Ann), Scott Denison (Nancy), and Patrick Denison; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. Family is hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday March 3, 2018 at 2pm at the Queen Emma Community Center (Christ Church Episcopal), 81-1004 Konawaena School Rd., Kealakekua, HI.
